Serving: Around 1 pint
- 1 grapefruit
- 4 large oranges
- 1 kiwi fruit (peeled)
- 20 drops of echinacea extract
This juice recipe has a tart kick to it and is designed to give your body the building blocks it needs to build a strong immune system. Drink this juice regularly the week before you expect to come into contact with people with colds and places where germs are abundant such as flights caused by a planes air conditioning system.
The grapefruit, oranges and kiwi fruit are all packed full of vitamin C which is vital for a strong immune system. Make sure to remove the skin of the grapefruit and oranges before juicing but leave the white pith on. The pith contains bioflavanoids which help the body absorb the vitamin C and so the body makes full use of the vitamin C.
Echinacea extract is a plant extract that has been used for centuries for its immune system boosting capabilities. After adding the Echinacea extract stir the juice and drink immediately to ensure you receive the highest level of vitamins.
